Day 8 - A character’s parent(s) or guardian
Michmethah has two parents, Brian and Sonia Hyde. They’re both bankers.
Okay so they have more personality besides that. They both care about their daughter a lot and want her to be happy and live a happy life yadda yadda. They are good parents, they’re just not exactly aware of everything that’s going on with her. Then again they’re not aware of the supernatural in general so part of that isn’t their fault.
Michmethah gets her eye color and nose from Brian and the rest mostly comes from Sonia. Sonia herself is mixed Hispanic which I totally had to make happen in order for the blue eye color to work. Because Sonia has brown eyes and unless she had blue eyes in there somewhere Michmethah would probably have brown eyes genetics blah.
Brian has a bit more to his past but I don’t want to get into it because story spoilers plot shit.
Amelia is being raised by a single mother, Margaret Bennett. She prefers to go by Peggy. Amelia got her red hair and stronger jawline from her and her nose and eyes from her dad. (Yes, I’m seriously listing what parents the kids got what traits from. It’s part of what I do.) Peggy is more of an adult child and a best friend than an actual parent at times. She means well, honestly, but it kind of sucks for Amelia because she probably wants to talk about things like the worries she has about her friend or even her own personal issues but wouldn’t really get the proper response from her.
I had a friend once make a joke about Peggy trying to come onto Nick in order to prove that she was still young. I’m not sure if I’m going to make that canon or not because that would be seriously awkward. But it’s a funny thing to think about.
Amelia’s dad on the other hand is a Chekhov’s MIA. That’s all I’m gonna say about it.
Victor and Tina’s parents I. Really have to work on more. They were never present in my original draft and I didn’t even know their names or jobs at first.
I know now that Casey, their mom, is a cop and Tanner, their dad, is a representative for the government. Victor wants to be a cop like his mom and I’m guessing he’s learned a few things from her like how to handle a gun or act around a crime scene.
They’re a bit more hands off in their parenting and very job oriented which probably works since the kids know enough not to do anything illegal. I’m thinking Tina is closer to them and talks to them about things more? Mainly because Victor is all up in the supernatural and neither of his parents (or Tina for that matter) know about that and he doesn’t feel comfortable telling them about that. As far as they know Nick is just a kind of weird kid with a weird family that he hangs out with for some strange reason.
Then finally there’s Lily and Nick’s parents Davy and Pam. I know the most about these two because they’re expies of what I imagined Danny and Sam being like as adults. Oops.
Davy and Pam met when they were in teenagers, fell in love and were having a normal enough teen romance when oops, Nick. They ended up being pretty okay though because Davy’s family was able to secure them jobs with the government and they worked their asses off and stuff.
Feature wise, the kids are a pretty even mix of their parents. Nick is taller than both of them, has Davy’s hair color, Pam’s eye color and face shape. Lily has Pam’s hair color, Davy’s eye color and also will need glasses like him in the future. You needed to know this.
They’re the most aware of what’s going on and are pretty accepting of what their kids do provided they’re not hurting themselves/other people. They’re also pretty much willing to do anything such as murder or selling their souls to protect them.
I say that like it’s happened before. Maybe it has. Plot shit.
