I read all of the Shadow Children series. They read us the first two books during reading time in the 4th grade. The last book came out when I was in the 9th grade, maybe?

House of Night was another series that turned into a complete train wreck
The first book was good. Second one was maybe okay?
Then came book three and Zoey got a harem and killed a human guy just because he interrupted her make out time
And it was never brought up again
I only read those books when we were at the book store out of morbid curiosity.
